Brasil - Sekitar 55% populasi di Brasil kekurangan pangan selama setahun terakhir akibat pandemi. Akibatnya banyak warga yang rela mengais sisa buah dan sayur buangan.

Menurut pemerintah Brasil, sekitar 19 juta orang di Brasil kelaparan selama setahun terakhir akibat pandemi.

Sekitar 55 persen populasi di Brasil tengah menghadapi kekurangan pangan, setidaknya 15 persen hidup dengan kekurangan makanan setiap hari.

Kondisi ini cukup memprihatinkan karena Brasil dianggap sebagai negara berpenghasilan menengah ke atas. Bahkan Brasil telah dihapus pada tahun 2014 dari Peta Kelaparan Program Pangan Dunia setelah satu dekade kemajuan dalam mengurangi kelaparan.
