Filipina - Filipina sedang berjuang mengatasi gelombang besar kasus COVID-19 yang dipicu varian Delta. Kurangnya nakes membuat petugas ambulans bekerja tanpa henti.

Tercatat lebih dari dua juta kasus dan lebih dari 35.000 orang Filipina meninggal dunia karena COVID-19.

Tak hanya itu rumah sakit juga kekurangan staf karena ratusan petugas kesehatannya ikut tertular virus COVID-19.

Presiden Filipina Rodrigo Duterte mengatakan, setidaknya lima rumah sakit besar di Manila yang sudah beroperasi dengan kapasitas penuh, harus mengkarantina para nakes yang terinfeksi dan tidak dapat menerima lebih banyak pasien. Dikatakan pemimpin Filipina itu seperti diberitakan Bloomberg, Kamis (23/9/2021), sekitar 400 pekerja di rumah sakit-rumah sakit tersebut telah terinfeksi Corona.

Duterte mengatakan bahwa Filipina, pemasok perawat global, kini mengalami "kelangkaan" perawat.
