Gauhati - India jadi negara kedua dengan kasus COVID-19 terbanyak di dunia setelah Amerika Serikat. Beberapa penanganan jenazah pun dilakukan dengan cara kremasi.

Seorang anak memakai alat pelindung diri berdoa saat kremasi ayahnya yang meninggal akibat virus Corona di Gauhati, India, Senin (28/9/2020) waktu setempat.

Proses kremasi dilakukan dengan protokol kesehatan. Para petugas dan anggota keluarga memakai APD lengkap.

Para kerabat memegang karangan bunga marigold sebagai penghormatan terakhir kepada anggota keluarganya yang meninggal akibat COVID-19.

Ritual kremasi jenazah sudah menjadi budaya di India.

Dikonfirmasi India telah mencapai 6 juta kasus COVID-19, membuat negara itu berada di urutan kedua setelah Amerika Serikat.

Total kematian akibat Corona di India kini mencapai 97.497 orang.

Penularan virus Corona di wilayah India dilaporkan lebih cepat daripada negara manapun di dunia. India diperkirakan akan menjadi negara yang terdampak Corona paling parah.
