China - Otoritas China mengambil alih gedung Konsulat Amerika Serikat di kota Chengdu. Penutupan ini balasan atas langkah AS menutup Konsulat China di Houston, Texas.

Dalam pernyataan via media sosial, Kementerian Luar Negeri China China menyatakan bahwa Konsulat AS di Chengdu resmi ditutup pada Senin (27/7) sekitar pukul 10.00 waktu setempat. Gedung Konsulat itu juga resmi diambil alih oleh otoritas China.

Kepolisian Chengdu membatasi akses ke area sekitar gedung Konsulat AS pada Senin (27/7) pagi waktu setempat. Empat personel dengan alat pelindung diri (APD) terlihat berpatroli di luar Konsulat AS pada pukul 10.24 waktu setempat.

Otoritas China memerintahkan penutupan Konsulat AS di Chengdu pada Jumat (24/7) lalu, setelah AS memberi waktu 72 jam bagi China untuk menutup Konsulatnya di Houston pekan lalu.
