Khasmir - Hidup tidak mudah bagi sekelompok transgender di Kashmir. Sebagian besar mereka dikucilkan oleh keluarga dan diintimidasi di masyarakat.

 Menyanyi dan menari di pesta pernikahan dulunya membuat Khushi Mir mendapatkan penghasilan yang cukup untuk menghidupi keluarganya. Hingga pandemi datang.

Lockdown untuk mengekang virus Corona di Kashmir telah melarang acara pernikahan dan acara malam.

Mir adalah Trangender, ia termasuk dalam komunitas yang terpinggirkan di Khasmir. Transgender seringkali hanya dapat mencari pekerjaan sebagai mak comblang atau hiburan pernikahan.

Penguncian COVID-19 yang berkepanjangan, didahului penguncian keamanan yang ketat akibat konflik di wilayah tersebut membuat banyak komunitas transgender tidak memiliki pekerjaan sama sekali.

Ditinggalkan tanpa mata pencaharian, beberapa melangkah untuk saling membantu. Mir dan empat orang lainnya membuat kelompok sukarelawan untuk membagikan makanan.

Sejauh ini, mereka telah memberikan paket ransum untuk hampir 220 orang, banyak dari mereka penata rias, penyanyi, dan mak comblang yang kehilangan mata pencaharian selama pandemi.

Mereka menghadapi kekerasan dalam rumah tangga dan akhirnya melarikan diri dari keluarga pada usia dini. Mereka adalah minoritas kecil di wilayah yang penuh dengan kekerasan dan ketidakstabilan politik.

Hidup dalam bayang-bayang konflik, ditambah dengan krisis pandemi baru-baru ini, mendorong mereka semakin terpinggirkan.
